Start with a list of items to be stored
For documents, check the folder format; for jewellery, the internal layout; and for valuables you plan to insure, the required security grade. Assess fire resistance or burglary resistance grade according to the certification of the specific model.
Installation location and everyday use
Measure the recess or furniture, allow for door opening and choose a convenient lock type. The safe must only be anchored at the points specified by the manufacturer and to a base that can support its load. For models intended for installation in furniture, see safes for installation in furniture.
If you are unsure which to choose
A Safes24.com specialist will help you select a home safe based on the items you wish to store and the planned installation location. Before buying a home safe, you can arrange delivery, carrying it into the premises and installation at the chosen location.
FAQ
Gather the documents and items you plan to store, measure the largest one and allow extra space. Compare this size with the safe’s internal dimensions, not its external dimensions.
A key lock does not require batteries, but the key must be stored securely. An electronic lock is more convenient for regular use and allows you to change the code, but the battery replacement procedure specified by the manufacturer must be followed.
Only if both properties are documented for the specific model. A burglary-resistance grade does not confirm fire resistance, and fire resistance testing alone does not confirm a burglary-resistance grade.
